Roxy Earns a Prize I at the Wild Rose NAVHDA Gun Dog Test

We are incredibly proud to share another milestone for Can GCh Stoney Lake Stardust FDJ CGN NAVHDA NA I GDT 1 SDN SDI VN WDJ — Roxy.

Roxy successfully completed her NAVHDA Gun Dog Test, earning a Prize I and the highest score of the day.

A Gun Dog Test evaluates much more than a dog’s natural desire to hunt. Dogs must demonstrate cooperation, responsiveness, confidence and practical field ability while working through a series of hunting-related exercises. It requires a dog to use her instincts while remaining connected to and guided by her handler.

Roxy approached the day exactly as she approaches almost everything: with enthusiasm, confidence and complete commitment.

Her performance reflected the qualities we value most at Verve Vizslas:

  • Strong natural hunting instinct

  • Intelligence and trainability

  • Confidence in new environments

  • Willingness to work with her handler

  • Athleticism, drive and sound temperament

Roxy has already demonstrated her versatility through conformation, field work, water retrieves and scent detection. Her Gun Dog Test result is another meaningful confirmation that she is developing into the kind of well-rounded Vizsla we hoped she would become.

What makes this achievement especially meaningful is that Roxy is not simply talented in one venue. She can move from the show ring to the field, the water or a scent search and approach each challenge with the same joyful determination.

She is still young, and there is much more ahead for her. For now, we are celebrating this special accomplishment and everyone who has supported her development.

Thank you to Steven Weir of Westrock Kennels, Tamara Champagne of Canine Development Testing, and the trainers, volunteers and fellow dog enthusiasts who have helped Roxy continue to grow.

Roxy truly represents the Verve Vizslas philosophy:

Purpose. Poise. Performance.
