Roxy Earns SDIN & SDN in First Trial and Qualifies for CKC Versatility Novice (VN)

Versatility isn’t something we talk about—it’s something we prove.

We’re proud to share that Roxy (GCh Stoney Lake Stardust) earned both her Scent Detection Instinct (SDIN) and Scent Detection Novice (SDN) titles at her very first scent trial.

She also earned a qualifying score in containers toward Open, showing just how naturally she understands the work.

With these new titles, Roxy now qualifies for the Versatility Novice (VN) title through the Canadian Kennel Club.

Why This Matters

The Versatility Novice (VN) title recognizes dogs who demonstrate ability across multiple disciplines—not just one.

To qualify, a dog must earn titles in different categories such as:

  • Conformation

  • Field or hunting

  • Performance (scent, agility, obedience, etc.)

  • Temperament

Roxy’s record reflects exactly that balance:

  • Grand Champion (GCh) with Group placing

  • Field Dog Junior (FDJ)

  • Canine Good Neighbour (CGN)

  • NAVHDA Natural Ability – Prize I (though North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association)

  • Scent Detection Instinct (SDIN) (first trial)

  • Scent Detection Novice (SDN)(first trial)

One dog. Many venues. Same standard.
